Lulu & Boo Organics, Rosehip & Pumpkin Multi-Action Firming Serum – A Little Ray of Sunshine

I’m putting my introduction to Lulu & Boo and their Rosehip & Pumpkin firming serum down to fate.

A few weeks back I was entered in to an Instagram comp by my lovely blogger pal Beauty Balm. It was during Organic Beauty Week and Lulu & Boo were giving away one of their skincare products each day on their Instagram page as part of the celebrations.

I won Wednesday’s comp! A few days later, this bottle of Lulu & Boo Rosehip & Pumpkin Multi-Action Firming Serum arrived.

A Little about Lulu & Boo Organics

It’s a brand that’s new me - and it has an interesting back story. It was founded by Claire Edmunds after she was forced to leave her career as a make-up artist due to ill health. Her skin had become extra sensitive to many products she was using. After re-evaluating her life, she started eating organic and experimenting with aromatherapy and herbal remedies.  She re-trained, began mixing her own skincare blends, and before long founded Lulu & Boo Organics.

Rosehip & Pumpkin Multi-Action Firming Serum - What is it?

It’s an oil-serum, containing 96% organic ingredients designed to firm, strengthen and improve skin elasticity. It comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. Apply six drops morning and night, after cleanse and toner.

I’ve been using it twice daily, and have gone on to dub it ‘my little ray of sunshine’ - for two  reasons. One, it has the same gorgeous golden colour as Autumn morning sunshine; two, it brings a happy glow to my skin.

Texture

As my skin has become drier, serums and oils have become a big part of my daily skincare regime. I use them day and night, though I will usually choose a different oil for each. At night I will apply something rich and heavy; for day I’ll opt for a lighter and quicker absorbing formula (partly to avoid a shiny face!).

While this Lulu & Boo is technically a serum, it’s oil-like in appearance and texture. I’m using it as both a serum and daytime oil. It’s very light and sinks in super quick, without leaving any residue. I thought six drops would be more than enough but it’s actually about the right amount.

Key ingredients

Rosehip – contains vitamin C antioxidants to stimulate collagen production, and vitamin A to boost moisture levels deep down (vitamin a has a small molecule size so is able to penetrate the skin).

Pumpkin – contains vitamin C and vitamin A, and additionally has natural enzymes that help to dissolve dry skin, ie it acts as an exfoliator to help improve the absorption of nutrients

Also present are camelina, sunflower, pomegranate, seabuckthorn and mandarin extracts and oils. Together these provide a variety of vitamins and omega fatty acids to help further moisturise and soothe skin.

Final Thoughts

This is a truly delightful serum/oil and at £32 for 30ml, it is good value. You can buy it here.

  1. How does it work, I wonder? As I am nearing 40 I am aware that my skin isn't as youthful as it used to be and I should consider investing in products like these.

  2. This sounds certainly like a serum that is delightful and hydrating although I gotta admit I don´t adore the scent of pumpkin- does it have the scent of it? Hope all is well my dear, just a quick hello from overseas to you my dear. You are certainly not forgotten! ;-) Kisses, Sissi http://www.beauty4free2u.com

    1. You're not forgotten either, darling. I know we're all so busy. I'll pop over later :). Re scent, it's pleasant, so I'm saying no, though I can't entirely recall what pumpkin smells like! Tx

  3. That sounds wonderful - I love face oils and serums especially at this time of year when the weather is cold and grey and central heating dries everything out!

  5. Yoo-hoo, dear Tracey, 6 drops and a ray of glow - OK, of sunshine, but making skin glowy - something I love! Lulu & Boo is also new to me! Rosehip and Pumpkin, the combination sounds good, and I love serums! A-ha, first let me tell you that I also looooove when I see you commented - so it's mutual! And please go on seeing me the same way till now - I am positive, I am smiley, I just turned to be more attentive to life and people. A kind word means much more than the presents I used to get - some to impress me. Today a manor house, a trip to Tahiti, a diamond bracelet, you name it - nothing like these things impress me, but if someone is kind like you are, will have my admiration and loyalty forever. After all, we are souls - and souls nurture, don't hurt. Ahem, my pub philosophy :) I also feel like I have known you in person and will love to! OK, now after the "pub thoughts" - I am sentimental :) - back to the serum. The price seems to be good, the effects too, and I can well wear serums, but not oils. I have very sensitive skin - eating some things are disastrous, imagine oil. But I liked the story behind Lulu & Boo and the serum too. Hugs and regards, dear Tracey! Hope you have a very nice week!
