NEW: Caudalie Resveratrol Face Lifting Soft Cream – Review

Of all skincare products, moisturisers are what I have most difficulty writing about. That is because I just don’t find them exciting. Most seem to do a pretty decent job of hydrating the top layer of my skin (for a little while). End of story.

Occasionally, though, one will come along that makes me sit up and take note. It stands out from the crowd, does something a bit different. Oh, well hello there the new Caudalie Resveratrol Face Lifting Soft Cream.

What is it?

It’s a light, nourishing day cream with 93% natural ingredients. It’s designed to lift, firm, smooth and nourish. You apply it in the morning to the face and neck, avoiding the eye contour (it comes with a spatula but I prefer fingertip application).

Why Do I Like it?

Plain and simply it makes my skin feel soft, supple and dewy, not just moisturised. It does so from the off. The texture is light and whipped, yet full of richness. As soon as I’ve slapped it on and massaged it in (gently), my skin feels and looks a whole lot better. The softness and suppleness are the big hits. Lift? I’ve still yet to find a topical cream that will do that – it’s the Holy Grail, right?

Key Ingredients

Resveratrol- this is popping up more and more in skincare. It’s an anti-oxidant found in the skin of red grapes - a glass of red vino with dinner will contain quantities of it too! It is claimed to restore cellular health, ie, reverse some of the damage caused by soaking up too much sun (and pollution).

Grape Seed Oil – nourishes and repairs. It’s easily absorbed, light on the skin, and used often as a base for creams and lotions. It’s rich in beta-carotene and vitamins D, C and E. It also contains essential fatty acids including palmitic, stearic, and linoleic acid – in clinical tests these have shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and scars.

Hyaluronic Acid - a staple in moisturising products. It is found naturally in our bodies but levels decline with age. It helps the skin retain moisture, a lot of it – a single molecule can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. It’s what gives our skin its natural, plumped, youthful appearance.

Caudalie Resveratrol Face Lifting Soft Cream is a truly delightful day cream. I shall be sad to finish the pot. It is available now at £42 for 50ml, here.

  3. I also think that moisturisers are good, superficially speaking - the first layer of skin gets smooth and that is it. :) And I also like fingertip application. And I also like Caudalie :) So many likes it will be like facebook :) But I do like Caudalie and Resveratrol. So how amazing it is to find this review, cause now you know what I will say, dear Tracey - yeeees, a product that goes to my list... I need to go to Sephora to get it on the weekend :) Hope you have a very nice evening, dear Tracey! Hugs!

    1. Thanks Denise. If skin is particularly dry, as mine is, this is a particularly good hydrator. Tx
